The West Lancashire Golf Club
The West Lancashire Golf Club was founded in 1873 and is among the ten oldest golf clubs in England. It boasts one of the most natural and testing links in the British Isles, of which Donald Steel wrote “Only in Britain can one savour the true flavour of seaside golf, of which West Lancashire is a perfect example”
Imaginative and varied in layout, the course has so much more to offer than simply a wonderful experience of classic links with stunning views of the Mersey Estuary, and the Welsh Mountains.
Host to the 125th Amateur Championship 2020
As one of the original subscribers to purchase the Amateur Championship Trophy in 1885, we are proud to be hosting the 125th Amateur Championship in 2020.
West Lancashire last hosted the tournament in 2009 when a young 16 year old, Matteo Manessero, broke the course record with an impressive 65 and went on to win the championship.
